APC stakeholders call for security along Bonny Waterways

The APC stakeholders in Bonny held an interview with NAN (News Agency of Nigeria) on Saturday calling for security personnel to be deployed to the Island's waterways. This call was quite overdue in light of the horrendous happenings recently...

Mr George Tolofari, who serves as the APC leader in the local government had this to say:
“Our waterways are unsafe. We are calling on Federal Government to come to our aid. If we will have gunboats to secure our waterways, we will be very grateful. We are also calling on the Federal Government to see to the fruition of Bodo-Bonny Road to open up the ancient Kingdom for development".
It is also believed in some quarters that the reason why the Island had missed out in terms of development for the past two years was because there is nobody representing them in the National Assembly at present.
Its important that we attend the public rallies of those contesting for this position, ask the hard questions and elect the right person to represent the Island.
